Why is Emraan Hashmi being compared to Salman Khan?



Emraan Hashmi is now being compared to Salman Khan! Reason: Like Salman Khan, almost all Emraan Hashmi films have become a hit at the box office.

Emraan feels honored to be compared to the star.

“I hope my films keep becoming hits, and being compared to Salman is a huge honour,” the 33-year-old said.

“I think I have got a lot of work to do, I have been in the industry for just nine years. He is a senior and very encouraging,” added Emraan.

Emraan Hashmi’s latest movie Raaz 3, which released on Friday, is going strong at the BO.

Wondered why the actor has always featured in bold films only??

Well, Emraan said: “No one gives me such (universal) films. When someone gives me a universal subject, I’ll do it.”

Emraan’s forthcoming films include Ghanchakkar , Ek Thi Daayan and Unglee.

Ek Tha Tiger expected to earn record-breaking Rs 200 crores



Seems like Bollywood superstar Salman Khan does it again! After giving back-to-back super hits Wanted, Dabangg, Ready andBodyguard, he has hit the bull’s eye once again with Ek Tha Tiger which has broken records of opening day collection by earning Rs.33 crores.

The romantic thriller released on Independence Day and trade pundits are expecting the collections to increase during the long weekend, thanks to Eid, which is Monday, and make more new records.

The Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif starrer film’s cost is said to be above Rs.50 crores and Ek Tha Tiger marks director Kabir Khan’s third collaboration with Yash Raj Films after Kabul Express in 2006 and New York in 2009. Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines, Mumbai, says the film has received the highest opening ever.

“Salman‘s movie Ek Tha Tiger is doing very well all over. It has been the highest opening ever. In first two days, the film has collected around Rs.47 crores all over India. On the opening day, the film collected Rs.33 crores. It is the highest collection till date for any Indian film,” Thadani told reporters.

“In Mumbai the film collected close to around Rs.17 crores on opening day. There is possibility that the film will break all records and collect Rs.200 crores,” he added.

Vinay Choksey of VIP Exhibitors, Mumbai, seconds Thadani and said: “The film is expected to maintain the craze and the collections will go up during weekend.” The film that revolves around an Indian secret agent named Tiger collected almost Rs.17 crores on the second day.

Anant Verma, director and business head of DT Cinemas, says “Ek Tha Tiger opened with 98 percent occupancy”. “The movie is doing excellent business. There was a lot of hype about it because of which we have had 45 percent online and advance bookings,” Verma told Reporters.

“From families to couples, college students to working class came to watch the movie and they are liking it. We are waiting for the weekend and expecting increased footfalls,” he added.

Salman, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer, romances Katrina (Zoya), an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent in the film.  “Ek Tha Tiger” shows the tumultuous journey of the dark world of intelligence that forbids its soldiers from falling in love. The story is by Aditya Chopra and the film’s screenplay has been co-written by Kabir Khan and well-known journalist-turned-lyricist-writer Neelesh Misra.

First Look of ‘Kudiye di Kurti’: Salman Khan’s cameo in ‘Ishkq in Paris’


Salman Khan looks debonair in the first look of ‘Kudiye di kurti’, the song he especially shot for Preity Zinta’s debut production ‘Ishkq In Paris’. Salman agreed to make a cameo in Preity’s film without a second thought, and the actress can’t thank him enough.
Salman plays himself in the peppy track and features along with Preity, who plays the lead actress in the movie. Composed by duo Sajid-Wajid, the song is part of a wedding sequence where Salman Khan, the star, is invited for his celebrity presence. ‘Kudiye di kurti’ is an up-tempo song and no one could do it better than Salman Khan. He is a complete rockstar in the number.

“First experiences are always the most memorable and special and he has rocked the movie for me by looking so handsome and super hot,” Preity said of Salman in a statement. A thankful Preity said she loves Salman for being part of her first film as a producer.

Directed by Prem Raj and produced by Preity Zinta, Ishkq in Paris is expected to be released on October 5, 2012.

“I don’t want the national award” : Kareena Kapoor
